Terra Gurley-Sutphin: I feel so happy and giddy tonight. We're pretending that I'm still in today, even though it's past midnight and would technically be yesterday, it's still today, ok? We had a great evening. We brought home our GrandDaughter, Braelyn and I got to meet our new GrandSon, Damian! He is so precious and Heaven sent! Dave and Angelica invited us all for dinner and David cooked. Yummmm.... David made a baked ham w/pineapples, a cornflake/hasbrown casserole and asparagus! It was da bomb, Dave! He is an excellent cook. I'd love to get him an apron w/a chef hat on it that says "Chef Dave." Good times w/Family and great, silly conversations between Angie and me! Love laughing! Then, another awesome car ride home, w/ Darrell, Lexi and Levi... We always have the very best deep talks on our way home from somewhere that we had a great time at. We are so Blessed w/our Family and I'm so very thankful for each of them. And then, just when you think you're not the greatest Parent(s) in the world, your Kids tell you that you are!! That's priceless and the very best verbal gift you could ever ask for, for me anyway. A lot of people are so focused on material possessions, they do not know what they are missing w/just having heart to heart talks w/your Kids to totally warm your heart and soul! Anywho, I had a nice weekend and hoping everyone else did too. Have a great upcoming week. Love Terra

For My family and friends in cyberspace and here on FB:
This will be the last posting that I will do for My Daddy. I received his Flag the past weekend and it brought me to say these words of him. As I look back on what my father did. He did not share with me as much I wish he did. I am still learning of my father. He was my daddy to me. I will always tell my friends about him when they ask. What did your father do? My Daddy did this:
He Severed in the United States Air Force. He was a 3rd class Air Man. He was not just an air force person. Nor was he just a news paper editor. Nor just an editor in chief of the city desk @ Dallas Times Harold. Yes, he did start his own news papers and was the photographer. He received 2 Law degrees from UCLA in California. He taught Law at S.M.U. in Dallas. He covered White Sands New Mexico during the test of the nuclear bomb there. In 1955. Graduated as a member of Mensa. Graduated top10 of his class. He did all of this with his G.E.D. I feel that he did more than most with a high school diploma. He did in fact did get his high school diploma in 1993. So if you ask me it is never to late to get what you really want. Here is My best that I wanted to share with him is here; a daughter with a hard working husband and 2 great grandchildren and myself a beautiful wife with 2 boys. I just hope he is looking upon me happy with what I have done so far. I will lay my father to rest on Feb.29th in San Antonio, Texas. Fort Sam Houston at 10:00 a.m. I just wanted to share this with you. For it is never to late to get what you want out of life. Me I thank God for what I have every day. God bless you all and thank you for your read..
I just want to say to the young minds out there please stay in school and learn. We smart people in our government so the same things wont keep happing. Think about it. O.k. From the Seaver family to ours have a very Merry Christmas..

'Home and Away' teases bomb aftermath in 2014 promo - watch It won't be Bianca or Irene. It'll be Ethan.
Bianca is said to appear in the upcoming London episodes & Irene's portrayer recently boasted of an upcoming plot regarding Irene involved in an action plot. I'm sure she wasn't speaking of the action regarding the bomb. Irene's been in it forver, I'm sure she won't be a casualty.

"People often ask me what it means to be an American. I tell 'em it's triumph. Triumph. Triumph when we nuke our enemies. Triumph when when peer down from the moon and laugh heartily at Russia. Triumph when we depose one dictator after another. Triumph when we break into the homes of terrorist kingpins on the other side of Earth and shoot them in the face. Triumph when whe use flying robots to bomb other terrorists in Afghanistan, and other nuclear robots to explore Mars. Triumph when we free Europe from Nazis. Triumph, triumph, triumph.
But it's not just the the big things, see? It's the way an Italian cabbie sits up straight and floors the gas when he hears my accent. It's seeing the wide eyes and bead of sweat running down the forehead of a German customs agent when he opens my passport. It's the way a French waiter hangs his head when I refuse the wine and ask for a Coke in English knowing full well he understands me. The way an Aussie blushes and leans into the urinal next to me in the bathroom, or the scowl that meets my smirk when I tip a British waiter in U.S. dollars covered with Washington's face. The way small mobs of Canadian school children follow me from a distance to see what a free man looks like, or how heads timidly rise and women gather when my accent stops the music in the clubs Amsterdam.
Triumph. Every bit of it. Triumph. That's what it means to be an American.
Beauty is for effeminate Europeans. This is not beautiful, it is triumphant. It is a winners speech, a tale of overflowing self confidence and the unshakeable belief that we live in the greatest country that ever was or ever will be.
America is the biggest triumph in human history. Picked by God to be the greatest country, exceptional and eternal." Not my words, but very close to my personal beliefs about our country. 'Merica

Vera Lynn - I'll Be Seeing You Vera Lynn, a popular singer during World War Two, is an amazing 96 years old. Her iconic version of "We'll Meet Again" is used ironically at the end of the movie, Dr. Strangelove, as The Bomb is dropped: "We'll meet again/ We'll meet again,/ Don't know where,/ Don't know when /But I know we'll meet again some sunny day…." She also does an exceptional version of "I'll Be Seeing You," which has a similar theme and mood.

Coastal Community News: We noticed Panda Express popping up in Best Chinese Food in Coos County. Along with the rumor (so far) that a Panda Express is opening in the old Arby's building. We have received many questions about this, and have put the question - to either confirm or deny - to the Panda Express PR Team. Once we get a definite answer, we will let you all know!

"After Alan Turing, it appears that technological standards attempt to determine the human condition. The reinscription of binary logic onto Turing’s body resulted in his death—another suicide bomb, another gay bomb. Technology binds life to the rhetoric of militaristic desire and corporate capital: technology is here to make our lives better for the greater good of society and to protect us from everything bad. Technological standards box us into a life capital wants us live. A life of hyper-consumption predicated on the need for always newer technologies. A life of heteronormative networked power, where Steve Jobs is the smiling (white, heterosexual, capitalist) face behind a company that “thinks different.” A life of imported family photos and children’s 1st birthday parties (literally, iLife). Importantly, a life where possibilities and decisions are made by a heteronormative elite before the queer user ever turns the computer on. Nothing on the computer is ever user-friendly.
Disidentifying with technology is an exploit. In Muñoz’s own words:
“Disidentifications is meant to be descriptive of the survival strategies the minority subject practices in order to negotiate a phobic majoritarian public sphere that continuously elides or punishes the existence of subjects who do not conform to the phantasm of normative citizenship.” Disidentifying with technology cuts open interstices that form the groundwork of Queer Technologies.”
