Our St. Louis Blues will be facing the San Jose Sharks for the first time this season in the second game of their three-game road trip. The puck drops at 9:30pm CT on FOX Sports Midwest and NewsRadio 1120 KMOX.

San Jose swept three games from the Blues last season. The Sharks, who outscored the Blues 16-7 in three meetings, won 4-2 in the last meeting on December 17th, 2013. Patrick Marleau and Justin Braun each had two assists in the game.

The Sharks have won eight of their last nine, including a 4-3 come-from-behind win over Edmonton Thursday. Tonight’s game will be the wrap on a five-game homestand at SAP Center. They are just 9-4-2 at home this season, but will be looking for their eighth straight win on home ice.

Alexander Steen has been moved with Jori Lehtera and Vladimir Tarasenko, and meanwhile, the top defensive pairing of Alex Pietrangelo and Jay Bouwmeester has been split up. Pietrangelo will play tonight with Chris Butler and Bouwmeester with Kevin Shattenkirk.

Jake Allen, who is looking for his 12th win of the season, will start in goal for the Blues. Antti Niemi picked up the win over the Oilers, but it’s not known if he’ll be in net tonight, or if the Blues will face backup Alex Stalock.

Players to watch for: Couture, Pavelski, Steen, Tarasenko
